A sling is a long, durable fabric designed to carry your baby comfortably, safely, and ergonomically. It keeps your little one close to you, providing skin-to-skin contact, comfort, and confidence, while you retain the freedom to move and carry out your daily activities.
It's ideal for use from birth to 10 kg, adapting to the baby's growth and the needs of each stage. It also promotes proper posture for both the baby and the carrier, distributing the weight evenly across the back and shoulders.
At Kargo Slings, we believe that babywearing is much more than just carrying: it's about creating a bond, facilitating breastfeeding, fostering attachment, and enjoying motherhood and fatherhood with greater freedom and practicality.
• It's the closest experience to the womb.
• It helps prevent ear infections and reduces the symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
• Babies cry less.
• It promotes prolonged breastfeeding.
• It strengthens the immune system.
• It promotes baby growth and weight gain.
• It reduces apnea and controls irregular breathing patterns.
• It increases oxygenation in the baby's body.
• It allows the baby to observe and interact with their environment, stimulating their cognitive development.
There's a reason why slings are the number one choice for your new baby. Newborns have a naturally curved spine, and in those first few months of growth, it's essential to hug and support their spine and maintain their ergonomic position.
To achieve this, ensure their knees are tucked up, close to their belly button, and that their bottom is in a deep squat position (the frog or M position). Perform a gentle pelvic tilt by grabbing your baby's legs from behind their knees, right at the crease where they bend (called the hamstrings), and gently rotating their pelvis toward you. This will gently rotate their hips and create a deep "C"-shaped curve in your baby's spine, increasing their squat position for optimal use. Make sure your baby's face remains clear at all times.
